Once a thriving venue for the classical scene, The Hollywood Bowl hosted the absolute top talent from all over the world. Hollywood was trying to have a more refined image. They could never be New York or Paris, but they could buy a lot! Under the perfect SoCal weather The Bowl provided amazing entertainment.
Read through the pages- the performers were unbelievable- featuring Conductor Otto Klemperer on 2 dates and Madame Butterfly on the 3rd.
Read the ads..... singing lessons , furs, restaurant and more on so many pages. After all, you want to break into movies... take lessons.
Enjoy a slice of L.A. history. The Bowl is still there, very different, but still an institution.
