    Roman Republic silver denarius, M. Furius L.f Philus, 119 BC, Sear 156, RRC-281/1. The obverse shows
    M. FOVRI L F , with a laureate head of Janus. Janus, shown with the facing looking both ways was the god of the past and the future, looking back and looking forward. The reverse shows Roma standing left, crowning a trophy of arms with carnyx, and with a shield on each side. There is a star above Roma to the right. PHILI (PHI in monogram) in exergue. Nice light to medium silver gray aged tone surface. This a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica or reproduction.
