Rare Bing & Grondahl B & G Denmark Blue Fluted Cover/Underplated Butter c1915-48

Description

Here's an extremely unusual piece from Bing & Grondahl in the Blue Fluted pattern.  The pattern is sometimes listed as BIG15 (I have no idea why).  The pattern is very similar to Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Plain, but had several variations.  This one has a plain blue glazed knob which is also unusual.  It is in pristine condition despite it's age of manufacture between 1915 - 1948, but by the font of the "B&G" it is on the early end of that range.  It is first quality and measures 5" for the underplate, 4" for the lid, a height of about 2 1/2" and I estimate it would hold about 4 oz. of butter.  A really lovely old piece.
