“A Proclamation . . .
Be it known that I as mayor, do hereby declare the week ending April 2, 1955 shall be amateur wrestlers week in the village of Amityville.
That we welcome the national Amateur Athletic Union and their National, local, and foreign wrestlers to our village at their meet in the Amityville Memorial High School
on March 31
, April 1, 2nd, and 3rd.
This will bring together for contests, the finest American and foreign amateur wrestlers for our people and many friends near and far to enjoy
Any profits of the meet will go to our Kiwanis Club’s Underprivileged Children’s Welfare Fund.
